Life Transformations Personal Trainer,  Sarah Mae Skinner selected Linda as our Client Spotlight.  Check out her story.
I started training because I was uncomfortable in my body – my knees hurt, I couldn’t handle stairs, and my back hurt while standing. I knew I had to change something to prepare for a walking tour ofLife Transformations lees summit Personal training Client Spotlight linda Toronto in July. In the past, I lost weight with diet, but didn’t handle maintenance well. I was intimidated by the gym, trainers, and training. I checked out several gyms to find one that is comfortable for me and to get some help learning how to train safely. Since beginning training in March, I have increased my walking speed from 2 miles per hour to 3.3 and duration from 20 to 90 minutes. I have found muscles I didn’t know I had. I’ve been able to discontinue 2 prescription medications and have lost 51 pounds so far. My goal is to develop a healthy lifestyle that I can easily maintain both while working and into retirement. Someday, I want to be able to feel those muscles that Trainer Extraordinaire Sarah says that I am building. Of course, there are more pounds to lose and muscles to build, as well as walking tours of more cities around the world. I have to say that my favorite part of training is finishing it for the day. I haven’t yet felt that training glow that I hear about from the trainers. I look forward to the day I experience it. In the meantime, I appreciate the results that regular workouts produce. My advice to others: ignore the poster that says “Go hard or go home.”  It is discouraging to those of us that have a long journey to peak condition. Instead, every day do a little more today than you did yesterday. My goal is progress, not perfection. Every rep, step, and stair is progress to be celebrated.
