Tacos can be pretty high in calories, thanks to fried shells or fillings, creamy sauces and other unhealthy add-ons. In fact, just one three-piece serving of steak tacos from Chipotle weighs in at 540 calories. (And that’s only if you skip cheese, lettuce, salsas, rice, and vegetables).
Let’s take a family favorite taco dinner and healthy it up.  So go enjoy a taco dinner and know you are saving your family unwanted calories. Check out some healthy taco variations.

Beef Tacos

INGREDIENTS
97/3 lean ground beef
Taco seasoning packet
Whole Wheat, Corn or Flour Tortillas
Shredded low fat cheese
Diced Tomatoes
Diced Onions
Shredded Lettuce
Salsa or Taco Sauce
DIRECTIONS
Brown beef over a medium heat, add seasoning packet.  Warm tortillas in microwave for 10 seconds, and then place in covered dish to keep warm. 
Place bowls of taco ingredients on the table and let your family enjoy making their own taco creations.

Lean ground turkey
Shredded chicken breast
Diced tilapia

Plain Greek Yogurt (tastes like sour cream)
Diced bell peppers
