Stay Home Ideas

Covid-19 Stay Home Order has everyone in a different state of mind and state of quarantine.  Everyone has a different comfort level.  Lee’s Summit and Jackson County Missouri are set for another three weeks of Stay Home.  May 15th is the date set for businesses to re-open, but this may change. Since Life Transformations Personal Training is in Lee’s Summit, we are following these guidelines.   What can we do between now and May 15th?  The answer is limitless, but here are a few ideas.

Exercise your mind

Use your extra time to try new things.  New ways to open your mind.  A puzzle book, adult coloring book, journaling, drawing, playing board games.  Something to get you thinking.

Home projects and improvements are great. Most people have a “To Do” or “Honey Do” list.  What a great time to work on these projects.

Spending time with family is an easy one, because you are all home together.  But, trying new ideas is also good.  Family game night, home escape rooms, family walks, family Zoom time, cooking together are some examples.

Exercise your body

Everyone says they would workout if they have more time.  Well, there is no time like the present.  If you want to start an exercise program, start easy.  Walking, biking, light strength training are all good options.  If you have been working out, continuing your workouts is ideal.  Keeping your body moving and muscles strong is important.  Just because you cannot come into your training sessions or gym, does not mean you have to fall off the bandwagon.  You can maintain progress while at home.  Virtual workouts/training are always an option for accountability.

DIY Disinfectant

Sanitizers and store-bought disinfectants are in high demand.  Many stores do not have a constant supply of these products.  So, here are some home-made ideas.  You can do quite a bit with bleach, water mixture.  Use cloth or paper towels to clean or make your own sanitizing wipes.

1/3 c bleach to 1 gallon water

1 tbsp bleach to 4 c water

½ c rubbing alcohol, 1 c water
